How to Create Sustainable Agricultural Environment

HOW CAN INDIA OVERCOME FARM DISTRESS AND CREATE AN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTUTRAL ENVIRONMENT

Sustainable Agricultural

Mahatma Gandhi once said "India resides in her villages". This statement is still relevant as even today more than 50% of people directly or indirectly depended upon agriculture. Agriculture is the backbone of economy as it provide raw material to industry in supply side and farming households are crucial for the effective demand creation.
However Indian agriculture is facing several constraints starting from farmer's field to marketing of produce. Our agricultural production is depended upon monsoon rainfall because 68% of arable land is rainfed. Penetration of formal credit is still not up to the mark.

Insurance cover is minimum. High quality of seeds and other inputs are beyond the reach of majority of farmers. To address this government has taken mojor steps such as nationalization of bank, creation of NABARD,primary sector landing and PMKISAN etc. for easy finance.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for crop insurance.PMKSY for irrigation.around 85% of our farmers are marginal and small. So its difficult to have the economies of scale and farm mechanization.

Cluster based Farmer Producer Organisation are given much importance to addres this problem. It will also help to execute new farm practices such as Nature Based Agricultural Farming,Organic farming,Precision Farming,Climate resilient farming etc. These methods are not ony profitable but also sustainable.
Marketing has been a great problem in recent years.Aim is to reduce the middle man involve in it.So government has com up with a new scheme call e-NAM where farmer can sell their produce to a buyer sitting anywhere in the country. It will help in better price discovery.

Contract Faring is also agreat step in this regard. For easy and quick transportation Kisan Rail and Krrishi Udan has been launched in this budget.PM krishi sampada yojana has been launched for value addition and food processing.

Essay on Boosting Economic Growth of India

Boosting Economic Growth India's GDP growth rate slowed down to 5 per cent in Q1 of FY20 and is expected to be around 6 per cent or below in this financial year. As former Reserve Bank of India governor Y V Reddy mentioned recently, a combination of cyclical and structural factors have been responsible for the slowdown.  One example is the auto sector. There seems to be a collapse of aggregate demand in the economy. Global uncertainties have added to the problem.  In the last few weeks, the government has announced several measures to improve both consumption and investment in different sectors and for the economy as a whole. The announcement of reduction in corporate tax rates may help in reviving the sentiments of the private sector but the tax revenue may also decline and put pressure on fiscal deficit. These stimulus and structural measures and monetary policy may help reviving the economy to some extent in the near future. But, these measures alone may...

How to Improve Indian Financial System

How to Improve Indian Financial System India had been successful in managing the global financial crisis of 2008 but present condition of its banking sector is worst.  The reasons for this are mounting bad loans, poor accounting standards and lax supervision.  India's ratio of NPA has grown from lowest to highest in 8 years among G-20 club. The sudden rise in bad loan ratio is due to RBI strict monitoring  in recent years which was left hidden. Bad loan problem is high for SBI but private banks also have it. According to IMF Indian banks are more vulnerable to financial shocks then other emerging markets banks. Very few recommendation of Nayak Committee which was formed to suggest reforms to strengthen have been implemented even after three-and-a-half years. Government should undertake structural reforms for state-owned banks to improve Indian Financial system and boost growth and investment.
